UPDATE 7:30 P.M. The deceased victim in this case has been identified as Stephen Thibirge (DOB: 12/30/91), according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
A shooting at an east Orange County strip-mall parking lot on University Blvd. and Dean left one person dead and one in the hospital, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report.
The shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. in the University Oaks Plaza parking lot near Dean Road and University Boulevard in the On Tap shopping center. Orange County Sheriff’s Captain Brett Meade told the Orlando Sentinel that it appears to have been a gun battle.
One man was left dead and another was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the report says. A homicide investigation has begun.
We are unsure at this time if the victim was a UCF student.
Deputies are now searching for a silver Chevrolet Impala or a gold Nissan 4Runner with four people inside. Anyone with information about the shooting are urged by investigators to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.
