In an new report, the University of Central Florida has been ranked on a national list of “best bang for your buck” schools.

The national list, compiled by the Washington Monthly, ranks UCF as number 22 out of 349 schools that charge the least and give the highest chance of graduating with a a meaningful degree.

“This year, in addition to our public good-based evaluations which will be released next week, we’re launching a new rankings set based on the economic value students receive per dollar: Best Bang for the Buck,” the article description reads.

Four criteria were necessary in order for schools to get onto the list. First, at least 20 percent of the students must be receiving Pell Grants. Second, the school must have a graduation rate of at least 50 percent. Third, each school’s actual graduation rate must meet or exceed the rate that would be statistically predicted for that school given the number of lower-income students admitted. Fourth, schools must have a student loan default rate of 10 percent or less.

According to the report, UCF has a graduation rate of 63% and a loan default rate of 8%. It also states that 30% of UCF students receive Pell grants and the net price to attend is $8,825.

Two other Florida universities managed to top the list as well. The University of Florida landed a top spot at number five, while Florida State University made it to 20.
