The UCF men’s basketball team will start off their season in the new American Athletic Conference at home on Friday night against the Tampa Spartans with tipoff at 8:30 p.m.
The Knights will be eligible for postseason play this year after sanctions last season prevented the team from postseason play. The competition this season will also be higher, with the Knights playing the reigning national champion Louisville Cardinals at home on New Years Eve.
It will be the first season that the Knights will be playing with the new “blacktop” style hardwood floors, which gained national attention earlier this year.
