Actress and comedian Joan Rivers, best known for her stand-up comedy, has died at the age of 81, according to CBS News.
On Aug. 28, Rivers experienced serious complications during throat surgery at a clinic in Manhattan. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and was put into a medically induced coma after reportedly entering cardiac arrest.
Rivers’s half-a-century career included multiple television shows such as E!’s “Fashion Police” and appearances on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.’
