The Knights notched their first conference win of the season Tuesday night in a 79-78 overtime win over Houston.
Brandon Goodwin caught fire in the overtime thriller; he sent his team to overtime with a deep three that tied the game at 75 with two seconds on the clock, and then hit another clutch long-range shot to go ahead as time ran down in overtime.
Goodwin was dominant all day – scoring 30 points while managing seven rebounds and five assists.
It was a close way to finish a game that looked to be well within UCF’s grasp at the half. Coming into the second half with a 42-30 lead, the Knights were quickly outpaced as they forfeited the advantage.
UCF will return home for their next game, a conference matchup against SMU – who is 1-1 in conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday.
