The UCF Cheer team scored second place at this weekend’s National Championships — solidifying ten straight top-five finishes for the school’s record.
The team finished just behind Alabama Cheer at the College Cheer and Dance National Championship held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
The squad trailed by only .015 points to Alabama Cheer. The team did, however, take first place in the World University Championships.
The program has placed in the top-10 of the College Cheerleading National Championships 20 times in the last 22 years under head coach Linda Gooch, including national titles in 2003 and 2007.
The Knightmoves dance team also competed in the Hip Hop division of the World University Cheerleading Championships. The squad notched a runner-up finish after registered a third-place result in 2014.
