A seasoned news reporter and former Orlando anchor died unexpectedly after suffering a brain hemorrhage while on assignment.
Lisa Colagrossi collapsed Thursday after finishing a live news report and was rushed to the hospital. She passed away Friday at 49.
Colagrossi joined WABC-TV in 2001 and previously was an anchor for WKMG-TV in Orlando where she won two local Emmy awards.
“Thursday seemed like just another morning, with Lisa Colagrossi doing what she did so well, reporting live from the scene,” the tribute message reads. “She was an amazing reporter, committed to Eyewitness News. She was dedicated to telling a story with honesty, a working woman, a hockey mom, she was gutsy and fearless.”
Colagrossi is survived by her husband and two sons.
