UCF Celebrates the Arts will showcase UCF’s performing and visual arts and illustrate the university’s positive impact in Central Florida and beyond.
The free public festival at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts features an interactive exhibition of student work including studio art, music, theatre, dance, gaming, animation, photography, and film.
“People who come to see this will be really amazed,” said performing arts marketing director Heather Gibson. “It will be unlike anything we’ve ever done at UCF before. It’s going to be special.”
The showcase will run from April 10 through 15, and will involve several UCF departments – including the School of Performing Arts, the School of Visual Arts and Design, the College of Sciences, SGA, and more.
Actress Kate Mulgrew, known for her roles in Startrek Voyager and Orange is the New Black, will be one of a few featured speakers at the opening event on Friday, April 10. Students will be able to take a free shuttle from campus to the Dr. Phillips Center throughout the duration of the events.
“There’s something for everybody,” Gibson said.
