The University of Central Florida Police Department arrested Bailey Taft Bunnett, 19, and Roberto Cruz, 19, for breaking into a car near UCF’s intramural fields on Sunday,
The pair was arrested Sunday after police responded to a call of a burglary in progress, UCF Police stated.
“The victim, a UCF student, saw the men near her car and remotely activated her car alarm. The men fled with some loose change, and police found them near the Academic Village,” UCF said.
Bunnett and Cruz were arrested on charges of burglary to a conveyance, possession of burglary tools and petit theft, admitting to involvement in several other burglaries on campus.
UCF Police stated much of the stolen property has been recovered and they are in the process of returning the items to the owners.
“UCFPD’s message is simple: If criminals come to UCF and victimize our students, we will do everything in our power to hold them accountable and make it right for our Knights,” UCF Police began a Facebook note with.
