A 21-year-old woman is in critical condition after Florida Highway Patrol says a red vehicle struck her on an Alafaya Trail crosswalk Sunday around 12:48 a.m., WKMG reports.
The victim, Katie Nakonechny, of Orlando, was crossing Alafaya Trail at Strategy Boulevard when she was hit, according to FHP, who also say the light was green when she attempted to cross.
The suspect possibly received left front-end damage, lost their side view mirror, and fled the scene, according to FHP.
Nakonechny was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment, reported WKMG.
