UCF’s dashboard shows 83 new positive COVID-19 cases detected in the second week of testing as part of UCF’s move-in process for on-campus residents.
Since UCF began the move in process at the beginning of August, 159 positive COVID-19 cases have been detected.
The university requires a COVID-19 test before checking in to on-campus housing, and the dashboard states 159 out of 5,732 tests were positive — a positivity rate of 2.8%.
Knight News has not obtained records to independently verify this data.
Knight News previously confirmed in June that the first case was reported to the university on March 10.
- Positive student tests = 364
- The dashboard indicates a total of 364 tests reported through Saturday that have been ordered by and reported directly to Student Health Services through UCF’s testing partner, Aventus Biolabs.
- Positive move-in cases = 159
- The dashboard shows 159 move-in positive cases reported between Aug. 4 and Saturday. Resident assistants and students began moving into campus housing on Aug. 4. A COVID-19 test is required before checking in — 159 out of 5,732 were positive, a positivity rate of 2.8%.
- Positive self-reported student cases = 89
- The dashboard indicates a total of 89 positive COVID-19 cases that students self-reported to UCF from the start of the pandemic through Saturday.
- Positive self-reported faculty and staff = 115
- The dashboard indicates a total of 115 positive COVID-19 cases that faculty and staff members self-reported to UCF from the start of the pandemic through Saturday.
Last week, UCF’s total case count was 632 positive COVID-19 cases since March 10.
“We encourage students, faculty and staff to report any positive tests to us, whether or not you have been on or plan to go to any of our campuses,” the dashboard reads.
