With the Spring 2022 graduation ceremonies taking place on Friday May 6 and Saturday, May 7, there are key things to be aware of to make sure your graduation ceremony with family and friends in attendance is a success.
When:
UCF’s graduation commencement ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Friday, May, 6 and Saturday May 7 at the Addition Financial Arena on the University’s Main Campus. Doors will open to guests 90 minutes before the start of each ceremony.
Graduates and guests will be allowed to park for free in only Garage D and Garage H. Mobility impaired guests will be allowed to be dropped off in front of the Addition Financial Arena before their party parks their vehicles in the subsequent garages.
Traffic:
Attendees of each ceremony should expect significant traffic delays and large crowds. Gemini Boulevard in front of the arena between East and West Plaza Drives will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All of East Plaza Drive also will be closed for most of the weekend.
Plan on being at UCF about an hour and a half to two hours before your student’s commencement ceremony time to allow for traffic delays in and around campus.
Access to areas around the Addition Financial Arena will be limited after each ceremony’s conclusion to allow for traffic exit from Garage D and H.
Tickets/Viewing
Every guest entering the Addition Financial Arena for the ceremony, including children and infants will be required to have a ticket for that specific ceremony time and day. Additional tickets for the event will not be sold at the arena’s box office.
Family and friends who do not have tickets to the commencement ceremonies will be able to watch a live stream of each ceremony at the link.
Guests without tickets will also be allowed to watch a live simulcast of each commencement ceremony at both the student union and Fairwinds Alumni Center.
What Not To Bring:
There will be long lines to pass through security in front of the Addition Financial Arena before each commencement ceremony. Here is a list of prohibited items that will not be allowed at each ceremony.
Congratulations to the graduates of the Spring 2022 semester, you deserve it!
