The Tampa Bay Lightning regained credibility in last night’s game, defeating the New York Rangers 4-1 in Game 4.

In the opening three minutes of the game, left winger Pat Maroon scored off of an early rebound. The rest of the period fell stagnant with a closing score of 1-0 for the Lightning.

Nikita Kucherov picked up the pace in the second period. After an assist from Ondrej Palat, Kucherov had a clear breakaway for Tampa’s second goal.

Captain Steven Stamkos found his time to shine in the third period. After a shot to the goal from the face-off circle from Palat, Stamkos recovered the rebound and edged the puck past the opening between the goal post and goalie Igor Shesterkin. Stamkos’ goal advanced the Lightning to 3-0.

To put icing on the cake, Palat scored the last goal for the Lightning with nine seconds left on an empty Rangers net.

The Eastern Conference Final is tied at 2-2.

The Rangers will now take on the Lightning for Game 5 in New York City this Thursday.
