Head Coach Johnny Dawkins and the UCF Basketball Basketball team are heading to the Bahamas this November for the 2nd annual ‘Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship with Oklahoma State, Santa Clara and DePaul.
Basketball play will start the week before Thanksgiving on Friday, Nov. 18. The Knights will take on Oklahoma State with Depaul vs. Santa Clara in the first-round matchups before a championship game being played on Nov. 20.
For Knight fans unable head to the Bahamas in person this fall, all four games on the ‘Baha Mar Hoops’ championship will be televised on CBS Sports Network with times for those matchups to be announced at a later date.
UCF Athletics released an official statement about the team’s second time in the ‘Bahamas’ championship:
In only its second year, “Baha Mar Hoops” will play host to the largest event in the sport of college basketball when 20 men’s and women’s teams play this Thanksgiving at Baha Mar, the leading resort destination in The Bahamas. The 10-day slate of games includes UCF, Oklahoma State, DePaul and Santa Clara playing in the men’s Baha Mar Hoops “Bahamas Championship” and five NCAA Tournament women’s teams participating in the Baha Mar Hoops “Pink Flamingo Championship.” In total, 24 games will be played across three events Nov. 18-27 at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center.
