UCF has requested millions from Orange County Tourist Development Tax Citizen Advisory Task Force to accelerate development. UCF AD Terry Mohajir has been shifting plans for campus enhancement and has plans for two phases of development, the first of which includes a standalone football operations building, a recovery river, a new entryway into FBC Mortgage Stadium, a new plaza area and renovations to the existing Wayne Densch Sports Center.
UCF has not received money from the tourist development task force in the last 10 years and the request is part of a fundraising campaign of UCF’s called mission 12 initiative which is focused on upgrading facilities such as FBC Mortgage Stadium and Addition Financial Arena.UCF is requesting $176,625,000 over a 10-year period, which is “approximately two-thirds of the total project cost.”
