On Sunday night, the 12th-seeded UCF men’s soccer team hosted the Catamounts in the NCAA tournament’s second round. This marked the second meeting between the teams in program history.

The game was action packed and displayed UCF’s “never quit” attitude when the Knights forced a double overtime. However, in the end, the Knights could not conquer the Vermont Catamounts. Knight Nation witnessed a final score of 3-2 in the second round at the UCF Soccer Complex.

“We’re all devasted that the season ended, and I feel like we have an incredible group,” said UCF men’s soccer head coach Scott Calabrese. “We’re sad the season ended, but we’re so proud of this group, what they’ve done and who they are as people, as competitors.”

With this loss, the 2023 UCF men’s soccer season is over. The Knights did achieve something spectacular though. The UCF men’s soccer team reached the No. 1 ranked spot in the nation this past season. With this in mind, the future of UCF men’s soccer looks bright!
