If you were a student at UCF and ever visited the Tri Delta house from 1998 to 2018, chances are you crossed paths with Mama Tay.
For more than two decades, Mama Tay dedicated herself to her role as the house mother at UCF for the Tri-Delta sorority. She lovingly treated each young woman under her care as if they were her own daughters.
Sadly, Mama Tay passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024. She was 83 years old. Mama Tay’s influence on the community will resonate for many years to come, leaving a lasting impression.
Her influence extended far beyond mere housekeeping duties. Mama Tay nurtured the spiritual growth of countless girls within the sorority, plastering the refrigerator with scriptures, leading Bible studies, and actively participating in various events such as sports games and skit nights. Her commitment knew no bounds. She was loved by many and will always be remembered for her unwavering dedication, kindness, and profound impact on the lives she touched.
Join the community in commemorating a Life Celebration on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church Orlando, located at 106 E. Church Street, Orlando, Florida 32801. The service will commence at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with a reception to follow.
