Scott Frost experienced UCF football’s pinnacle during his tenure, leading them to a flawless 13-0 season culminating in a triumphant victory over Auburn in the 2018 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. This achievement prompted some to consider UCF as the nation’s top team, although this claim was heavily debated.
Since that remarkable season, Frost has faced challenges. His subsequent coaching stint at Nebraska, a place close to his heart, fell short of the success he had hoped for. Now, having spent his entire life immersed in football, Frost is eager for another coaching opportunity after his departure from Nebraska.
Reflecting on his career trajectory, Frost acknowledges uncertainty for the first time. While coaching at his alma mater was a significant milestone, he cherishes memories from his time at UCF and believes in the program’s potential for greatness in the future.
In a statement he gave to CBS Sports, Frost states, “In 10 years, UCF could be a [national] power,” Frost said of the Knights. “It’s the best college town in Florida by far. Orlando? The campus is beautiful.”
Looking ahead, UCF enters the 2024 season with optimism, bolstered by notable additions from the transfer portal. If the team thrives, Frost will undoubtedly be their biggest supporter.
