The EA Sports College Football video game is edging closer to its long-awaited return.
On Friday, EA Sports unveiled a trailer for College Football 25, marking the franchise’s first release since 2013. The game was previously discontinued due to a lawsuit over name, image, and likeness rights, which has now been resolved. Unlike previous editions, this game will feature actual player names along with their likenesses, covering 134 FBS schools.
The trailer showcases highlights from many of these programs, including Boise State, Clemson, Florida State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Florida, LSU, Wyoming, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, USC, Pitt, Penn State, Oklahoma, Duke, Colorado, Michigan, Syracuse, Texas, Alabama, UCF, Tennessee, Oregon, UCLA, Georgia, Miami, and Michigan State.

After hinting at the game’s return earlier this year, EA Sports has officially released the first gameplay trailer for College Football 25. The trailer highlights the game’s visuals and offers a sneak peek at returning modes like Road to Glory, along with new changes fans can look forward to. The trailer is available for viewing above.
In a press release, EA outlined new details about College Football 25. The game will feature the return of popular modes such as Road to Glory, Dynasty, and Ultimate Team, along with a new mode named Road to the College Football Playoff.

Additionally, a blog post from EA revealed the inclusion of Team Builder, allowing players to create and play with their own college football programs in both Play Now and Dynasty Modes. More details on Team Builder will be released this summer.
Excitingly, EA confirmed that College Football 25 will introduce CampusIQ, a feature set designed to capture the depth of college football. This includes a Wear & Tear System and Pre-Snap recognition to enhance strategic gameplay. The game will also emphasize the unique settings, stadiums, and traditions of college football, including rivalry rituals and distinctive team run-outs. Commentary will feature notable analysts like Kirk Herbstreit and Rece Davis.
College Football 25 is set to release on July 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fans who purchase the Deluxe Edition or the MVP Bundle will gain early access to the game, starting three days prior to the official release.
