After a long season for the Knights, they played their final game of the regular season against the Utah Utes. And in a night that was supposed to be a sendoff for the beloved seniors, they lost 28-14.
After a tough loss to West Virginia the week before, the Knights become bowl ineligible, with zero chance at the college football playoffs. This was a game that meant more to the seniors then it did the team.
RJ Harvey finished his career as a Knight making history. With 47 touchdowns, he is now the record holder for touchdowns at UCF. Against Utah, Harvey managed to rush for 119 yards, nearly 70% of UCF’s total rushing yards.
Starter Dylan Rizk completed 11 out of 27 passes for a total of 118 passing yards. Freshman EJ Coulson completed 8 out of 12 passes, throwing for 70 passing yards. Both quarterbacks through devastating pick sixes, giving Utah a big advantage in this game.
Finishing their season, the UCF Knights end 4-8. Going into the offseason, this team will have to make some serious changes. Whether that’s changing the tires on the Gus Bus, or playing better football, the next 9 months need to see change for this team.
