The UCF Knights were handed an embarrassing loss to the #7 ranked Kansas Jayhawks, being defeated 99–48 in their second Big 12 Conference game. The Jayhawks presented their most astonishing performance with their center, Hunter Dickinson, racking up 27 points to seal the dominating game.
UCF struggled to score, making only 14 of their 68 field goal attempts, resulting in a whopping 20.6% shooting percentage. Kansas, by contrast, had a pretty good offense going, making 42 of their 83 shots (50.6%).
The 51-point margin of victory was the largest ever in Kansas history and overshadowed their former record—a 35-point win against Texas Tech in 2012 (81–46).
UCF’s rebounding game also lacked heavily this game, at just 38 total rebounds, Kansas used this to its advantage in forcing turnovers and building up second-chance points to blow it open.
In the resounding win, Kansas sent a message across the conference, while UCF will have some soul-searching to do ahead of its next Big 12 matchup against Colorado on Wednesday.
