With the Trump Administration declaring that the Gulf of Mexico shall be renamed to the Gulf of America, two iconic GPS services, Apple & Google Maps, have changed it.
Because of Trump’s executive order to rename the Gulf, Google made the decision to rename it on their app because they have “a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources.”
In Mexico, it will show as the Gulf of Mexico, but in any other country in the world that is not the U.S. or Mexico, users will see both, as Google Maps recognized both names.
