The Osceola Magic (4-1) end their undefeated run after they drop the second game of their series against the Birmingham Squadron (2-3), with the final score of 122-118.
Osceola struggled from three-point shooting early on in the matchup, shooting just 40.5% as a team in the first half. This proved costly as they trailed the Squadron 57-51 at halftime.
The Magic looked like a different team coming back from halftime, with Colin Castleton recording his third double-double of the season with 21 points and 13 rebounds before exiting in the third quarter due to injury.
Alex Morales also contributed to this momentum shift with 9 points in the third quarter, pushing Osceola to an 89-83 lead as they went into the fourth quarter.
This second-half push from the Magic was not enough for them to capitalize and win the game, as the Squadron shot 11-for-18 from the field with 11 free throws made to steal the win.
Birmingham’s Trey Alexander led both teams in scoring with 30 points, while Lester Quinones led Osceola in scoring with 24 points.
The Magic will now head on a seven-game road trip, starting with a two-game series against the Austin Spurs at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on November 19th and 20th, with tip-off being 8 p.m. for both games.
