For their last game in the Bounce House for the 2025 season, the UCF Knights took on the Oklahoma State Cowboys for their Senior Knight, resulting in a nail-biting 17-14 victory.
OSU opened up the game with 1 75-yard drive, resulting in a Zane Flores to Gavin Freeman touchdown. That would be the first and only score for the first quarter as both offenses struggled, including an OSU turnover on downs and a Tayven Jackson interception.
In the second quarter, both offenses continued to have their troubles. Both UCF and OSU punted the ball back to each other two times, making it four straight punts to start the quarter. OSU would be the first to end these struggles as Zach Flores ran in for a second OSU touchdown, bringing the score to 0-14 in favor of the Cowboys. On the next possession, Tayven Jackson would throw his second interception to close out the first half.
UCF would receive the ball to start the second half, and with an 83 yard touchdown pass from Jackson to Dylan Wade, UCF would find themselves on the scoreboard, making it 7-14. The rest of the third quarter would lack offense for both teams as it ended in five total punts, three by OSU and two by UCF.
To start the final fifteen minutes, both teams would continue to trade punts. UCF would end the punting streak with a second Tayven Jackson and Dylan Wade touchdown connection, making the score tied 14-14. UCF’s defense would shut down the OSU offense once again, making the Cowboys punt the ball back to the Knights with just over 6 minutes to go. The UCF offense would run out the clock, and Noe Ruelas would hit a 34 yard field goal to bring UCF up 17-14 with one minute left in the game. OSU had a chance to drive down the field to tie or win the game, but on the first play of the drive Braedan Marshal would intercept Zane Flores’ pass, cementing UCF’s 17-14 win over OSU.
Tayven Jackson racked up 271 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Dylan Wade was his top target, racking up 145 yards and two touchdowns on four receptions. Myles Montgomery would put up 81 yards on 18 carries for his last game as a UCF Knight.
Following this victory, UCF’s bowl game hopes remain alive. However, to make that achievement, they must face a difficult challenge as their next game is against the current #11 BYU Cougars.
