The Orlando Storm won the second game of their opening season with the final score of 19-9, and are now 2-0 as the defense shut out the Louisville Kings in the second half.

As the game began, both teams would come up empty-handed in their opening drives. The Storm would turn the ball over after unsuccessfully converting a fourth down, and the Kings would score a field goal to take the lead.

On the Storm’s following drive, kicker Michael Lantz would drill a 57-yard field goal to tie the game, and would make that back-to-back weeks where he scored a field goal from 55+ yards.

Louisville would see a change in the quarterback position as Chandler Rodgers would set foot on the field and would drive the Kings to their second field goal of the game, giving them the lead once again.

After a 22-yard rip by running back Tre Stewart would place the Storm in field goal range, and Lantz would hit his second of the game, this time from 26 yards out, to tie it at the end of the first quarter.

The Kings would have another drive down the field, and as the second quarter began, kicker Tanner Brown would convert his third field goal of the game, giving Louisville the upper hand.

Dorian Thompson Robinson would see his first snaps as a member of the Orlando Storm, but would quickly go back to the sideline after Jack Plummer was cleared to return.

KJ Hamler would take the ball to the house and score a 41-yard passing touchdown, giving the Storm their first lead of the game as they headed into halftime with the score of 12-9.

Returning from halftime, there was no notable action on offense, and the entire third quarter went scoreless. The defensive momentum extended into the fourth quarter, and with about five minutes left.

Storm wide receiver Elijah Badger would finally put points on the board after almost a 25-minute scoring drought, extending the lead to 10 points.

Louisville would have a chance to retaliate, but Mishael Powell would pick off Chandler Rogers and give the Storm the ball inside the five-yard line.

Jack Plummer would then be intercepted at the one-yard line by Deandtre Prince, and the Kings would regain possession.

That interception would not prove too costly as the Storm would turn it up defensively and regain possession with enough time to kneel out the clock. The final score from Inter&Co Stadium was 19-9 in favor of Orlando.

The Storm are now 2-0, and they will travel to Louisville next. They will take on the Kings one more time on April 10th.
