UCF Athletics, last week, received approval from the university’s Board of Trustees to enhance and revamp the Roth Tower situated at FBC Mortgage Stadium.

The expansion blueprint for the Roth Tower encompasses the integration of 1,236 club seats, 34 loge boxes, 34 sky bays, and 25 luxury suites. The project, estimated at $88 million, is slated for completion by the 2026 football season. Fund allocation, amounting to nearly $90 million, stems from the Tourism Development Tax Agreement endorsed by the university in 2023. Per university documents, this funding accord facilitates utilization for project-related costs, debt management, and associated financial obligations.

Expressing enthusiasm, UCF Athletic Director Terry Mohajir remarked, “This marks another significant milestone for UCF Athletics.” He added, “The new tower not only augments our resources but enables us to broaden premium amenities and entry-level seating options, upholding our commitment to affordability across collegiate football’s power four conferences.”

Acknowledging the collaborative support, Mohajir extended gratitude to Mayor Demings, Orange County Commissioners, the Tourism Development Council, UCF Board of Trustees, and Dr. Cartwright for endorsing this transformative endeavor.

The proposal followed UCF Athletics’ fan survey launch, aimed at discerning preferences for an upgraded Roth Tower. Enquiries delved into willingness to invest in premium seating and suggestions for innovative seating concepts.

With the green signal from the UCF Board of Trustees secured, construction plans and financing for the new Roth Tower await final approval from the Orange County Government and Florida Board of Governors.

Notably, UCF’s developmental agenda extends beyond the Roth Tower project. A significant boost arrives in the form of a $5.5 million donation from alumnus Taylor Gerring. This contribution fuels the development of a state-of-the-art football administration and coaching facility. Among its highlights are Nicholson Plaza, McNamara Cove, a revamped Wayne Densch Sports Center, enhancements to the football practice complex, a new VIP parking area, and a pedestrian-friendly promenade. McNamara Cove, envisaged several years ago, promises amenities like a rejuvenating lazy river and hydrotherapy facilities tailored for student-athletes’ well-being.
