Floridians in the north experienced a rare occurrence in the Sunshine State. What began as sleet has now transitioned into full-fledged snow. While snow in Florida is not unheard of, it is certainly a rarity. A major winter storm has moved through northern Florida, starting with the Panhandle and has gone south towards the Gainesville area.
On average, there are reports of 1 to 3 inches of snow in the north, with localized amounts of 4 to 6 inches possible in some spots.
Although this snowfall is exciting for many, conditions like these never stay around for long. In fact, some of the conditions are already gone in some parts of northern Florida. However, for those still affected by the light snowfall, we hope you stay safe and warm!
