June has been a special month for the University of Central Florida’s starting basketball players, Themus Fulks and Riley Kugel, who have recently signed with the Los Angeles Clippers on a Summer League contract.
From a small town in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to starting in all 33 of the Knights’ games, fifth-year guard Themus Fulks averaged 32.8 minutes per game during the 2025-2026 season. Throughout his playtime at the university, he was responsible for 37.4% of UCF’s scoring through his points (461) and assists (538).
Orlando native, Senior guard Riley Kugel started in all 31 games for the 2025-2026 season, averaging 14.3 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game. He scored a career high of 26 points against Baylor University on February 28, 2026.
These achievements would allow Kugel the opportunity to sign with the LA Clippers alongside his teammate Fulks. The NBA teams typically sign undrafted players immediately following the second round of the NBA draft to begin training and for the seasonal game period ahead.
Both Kugel and Fulks were signed to a Summer League contract, which can serve as a gateway for them to sign an Exhibit 10, Two-way, or standard contract based on their performance.
This is just the beginning of their NBA journey as they head to Las Vegas, Nevada, to kick off their summer league preparation with the Clippers.
