The UCF baseball team, already having a historic year, received even more good news Tuesday when it was announced that senior second baseman Travis Shreve was named Conference-USA Hitter of the Week.
Shreve earned the honor for the first time in his career after guiding the No. 7 Knights to a 4-0 week.
Shreve tore it up from the No. 9 spot, batting nine-for-16 (.563 batting average), notched three stolen bases, and played error-free defense to help the Knights (34-8, 12-3 C-USA) surge into the top 10 in the nation.
He increased his batting average to a team-high .360 as UCF swept Tulane and Florida Atlantic in the last week.
At No. 7, UCF achieved its highest ranking in school history.
Up next for the Knights is a weekend series with in-conference foe Memphis, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
