Strong storms are expected to move across Central Florida Tuesday evening bringing cold weather Wednesday and into the Thanksgiving holiday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for parts of Central Florida including Marion, Sumter and Polk counties until 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Strong thunderstorms are expected across eastern parts of Central Florida Tuesday afternoon and into the evening as the cold front moves in.

The storms will continue into the night with weather advisory’s notifying of wind gusts that may reach 50-55 mph and frequent lightning strikes.

Wednesday temperatures are expected to drop, with a low of 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. A freeze watch is in effect for Marion and Sumter counties until Thursday morning.

On Thanksgiving day, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
