UCF football notched its seventh consecutive loss on Saturday to the Temple Owls, losing 30-16 after failing to protect a two-point third quarter lead.
The woes of Justin Holman and the Knights’ offense continued to only get worse. Holman completed less than a third of his passes for 67 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns; the running game produced only 67 yards total of their own without a score.
Shaquill Griffin was the only UCF player to put the ball in the end zone with an 81 yard interception return for a touchdown.
It was the defense’s only highlight. Temple controlled the ground game with 212 yards of rushing offense – 199 of which came from Jahad Thomas, along with three touchdowns of his own. The Owls added 149 yards and a touchdown through the air as well for 361 total yards.
Both teams remained perfect, UCF winless at 0-7 and Temple still undefeated with six wins.
