The AdvoCare Invitational announced Friday the eight-team field for the 2017 tournament.
The Knights joined that list along with Long Beach State, Marist, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon State, St. John’s and West Virginia.
The Thanksgiving weekend-long tournament takes place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, part of the Walt Disney World Resort. The AdvoCare Invitational is one of eleven college basketball events across the country.
Previous winners of the event include Xavier (2015), Kansas (2014), Memphis (2013), Gonzaga (2008, 2012), Dayton (2011), Notre Dame (2010), Florida State (2009), NC State (2007), and Arkansas (2006).
UCF Men’s Basketball currently holds a 3-1 record, having gone a three-game win streak – only falling 57-67 to the previous NCAA Champions: Villanova. At the hand of new head coach Johhny Dawkins, the Knights have a good chance at going far into the season.
This Saturday night at 7:30 p.m., UCF will face Seattle (2-3) at CFE Arena. Knight News will be there to bring you photos and a game recap.
