Two teams with UCF Athletics received recognition from the NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program to be among the best in the nation with regard to Academic Progress Rate.
For the sixth straight year, UCF women’s tennis will receive the honor.
A team must have posted multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in each sport to be recognized through the program. UCF’s multi-year APR includes the previous four reporting periods through 2015-16.
“This is just another example of the tradition of academic success from our student-athletes,” UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White said.
“Congratulations to each of the student-athletes, coaches, and staff who were a part of earning this recognition. Being in the top 10 percent for Academic Progress Rate is a great accomplishment.”
The APR provides a real-time look at a team’s academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship, UCF says. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention, and graduation and provides a measure of each team’s academic performance.
