“Paper Heart” is a little known part documentary, and part scripted film starring Charlyne Yi, a young actress who doesn’t believe or understand love.

Yi, most recognized for her small appearance in the 2007 film “Knocked Up,” undertakes a road trip across the country with fellow actor Jake Johnson.

Johnson portrays the role of the film’s director, Nicholas Jasenovec, to ask people from all walks of life what they believe love is.

Yi consults friends and strangers on what they define as love and at what point they knew they had found it.  She interviews anyone and everyone, from bikers and scientists to school children and couples of more than 50 years of marriage.

During the course of the film, Yi develops a relationship with actor Michael Cera and risks losing her beliefs and identity that seemingly drive the film.

As the film progresses, her relationship with Cera develops on camera. What makes this film so great is seeing how unique and unorthodox each person’s definition of love is.

In addition to staring in the film, Cera and Yi, as well as Zach Condon and Alden Penner, composed and performed one hundred percent of the soundtrack.

If you are a non-believer like Yi, or if you just want a break from the never-ending Final Destination Series, check out this quirky little film.
