The running back duo of Brynn Harvey and Johnathan Davis combined for a total of 205 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Knights finished the regular season by beating UAB 34-27.
Harvey ran for 130 yards and 1 touchdown, as today’s effort put him over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season. Harvey’s score gave the Knights a 31-14 lead and ultimately sealed the win for the Knights.
Brett Hodges went 24-for-38 for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Knights ended their season 8-4, 6-2 Conference USA.
Unfortunately that record leaves the Knights one game behind East Carolina, who will host the C-USA Championship game.
The good news is that the Knights are playing their best football right now as they await their invitation to their bowl game. The Knights have scored over 30 points in their past three games as the combination of Harvey and Davis has been tough on opposing teams.
The Knights are projected to play USF in the St. Petersburg Bowl but I project the Knights will travel to New Orleans for the R+L Carriers Bowl vs. Troy.
Either way, the Knights have put together a good season and if a few breaks went our way in those close games vs. Southern Miss and ECU, we would be hosting the CUSA Championship.
There is a lot to be thankful for surrounding this UCF Football team as this season is just a sneak preview of the bright future for our Knights.
