Tim Tebow Cries, Facebook Group Ridicules Him

Football — By on December 7, 2009 at 12:02 am

One day after Tebow’s tears swept the nation on national TV, they’re sweeping the Internet at unbelievable speeds.

The Facebook group devoted to making fun of Tim Tebow crying we first reported had just over 4,000 members yesterday, now has about 20,000 more — 23,479 members as of 10:56 p.m. Sunday to be exact.

The members of the group, called “I saw Tim Tebow cry and loved it,” are unforgiving to the legendary quarterback.

FSU fan Keith Helms wrote: “Felt bad for the guy… then remembered how they left him in on 4th down with minutes left in the game just so he could score one more touchdown (while beating us by 30 points). To hell with the Gators. GO SEMINOLES. Great job Bama!”

The growing group’s members are also posting dozens of pictures humiliating Tebow.

For those of you saying Tebow is such a horrible person.. I hope this video speaks for itself.

  • T.J. says:

Tebow wasn’t crying because he let his team or his school down. He cried because he only cares about not getting his undefeated season. This is coming from someone who doesn’t like Alabama, FSU, Texas or any of the other teams in the SEC. I just know he is self centered.

  • USF says:

    Go Bulls

  • Jessica says:

Going through some of these comments, I realize what insecure, arrogant, and obnoxious cowards there are out there. And it’s pathetic. How dare you insult someone you have never met the way you do? Tim Tebow sacrifices his summer doing more than some of you will do in your entire life time. Rather than tearing people down, he does everything in his power to make other people’s lives better. Him crying just goes to show how much he cared–for his teammates, school, and fans–and was disappointed in letting them down. This is a team sport, and UF’s loss was not attributed solely to Tebow, yet he was just as upset if it was. There is nothing to be ashamed of in that. I’m sure there were Alabama and Oklahoma players last year that cried over their losses, especially their seniors, yet no one jumped down their throats about it. So go on a tear him apart all you like, though it doesn’t make you look like any better of a person. Florida fans will be forever grateful for not only the SEC, National Championships, Heisman Trophy, and winningest class in the SEC that Tebow was all apart of, but also his role as a role model for future generations of Gators. All you haters, continue hiding behind blogs and comments tearing people apart because you can’t be half the person he is. I’d like to see you step out and deal with the pressures, expectations, and comments about your character that Tebow has to deal with daily. Go Gators.

  • The U says:

I just LOVE the way Harry Stood up for his team, and by the way he spells you can tell he went to Florida. Tebow is a Good person and he did help UF win a National Title, but that doesnt give him reason to cry like a little Biach on national TV especially in front of thousands of people. Watch out here comes the U!!!!!!!!

  • Harry says:

I normally dont respond to shit like this but I just cant hold back. All you guys are just a bunch of haters. Tebow isnt the best player nor did he ever clam to be. He would go out and play his heart out and his team would follow. All you bitchs are talking about how he cried after the game where are the websites dedicated to when we beat Alabama in the SEC championship last year or when we kicked the shit out of OHIO State and Oklahoma in the National title games. How about when everyone was upset when he one the Heisman. I am not going to take anything away from Bama they played a great game and deserve to go to the title game. but to rag on somebody for showing some emotion after losing the game that he loves to play for the school that he has cheered for since he was a kid, well everyone you need to get a life. I see a couple of FSU fans in here i dont think you guys have any room to be talking shit about Tebow when your team goes 6-6 and are in a conference that has two teams playing for their championship and they both have two loses thats some shitty football. So to all the Tebow and Gator haters out there no matter how much shit you talk about or school or coach or players there will always be one things that us true Gator fans will say “ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR”

  • mike from ks says:

bama did good. i like tim tebow. i think its funny how a bunch of pussies who probably dont even play football make fun of him. and as for the fsufsu guy. he tore your asses up so i dont see how he’s a pussy

  • john says:

This is predictable: the fans of opposing or not-fit-to-be-opposing teams finally get a chance to vent their spleen at Tebow and the Gators after several years of dominance and standard setting, and the best they can muster is “fag”, “bitch” or some poorly worded bit of sacrilege. LOL. Awesome. One of the folks who weighed in above was a “co-worker” of college students in Gainesville, which translates into “embittered townie who didn’t go to college.” Another is an Oklahoma grad, which translates to “fan of a team Tebow and his Gators converted to garden fertilizer before an amused national audience.” Another is a Bama fan who despises Tebow after watching #15 Roll over his Tide last season. See the pattern?

Hey, I’m not a cryer, but I never held it against teammates who were emotional after a loss. And crying is certainly not synonymous with a lack of grit – Tebow has blown defenders to bits his entire career, and then helped them up after the play. Like another poster above said, if you’ve played sports at a high level in big games, you understand the emotion it conjures up. Many a great athlete has shed tears, but Tebow is bound to catch more hell than the insecure contingent among us feels threatened by his unerring faith and class. Truth be told, most of his detractors are pimply little dorks who’d never laugh at him or any other athlete to their face, since they’d have their heads torn from their pencil necks. An anonymous post on a forum is their means to vent their latent insecurities, and they use it to take a cheap, inarticulate shot at a guy whose shoes they couldn’t fill in a three lifetimes, on or off the field.

When you look at it that way, the topic will quickly turn from crying to laughter.

Oh, and congrats to ‘Bama for a great game and game plan.

  • Paula Glass says:

I am a true Alabama Fan and of course I am glad we won but I still think Tebow is a stand up guy. He is not ashamed to stand up for his belief in our Savior Jesus Christ and in our day that take a lot of guts. Because of his wearing of the scripture there are people looking up that verse and reading it to see what it says. A lot of them probably haven’t looked at the scripture in a long time if ever. So he cried just shows he cared and gave his all. Nothing at all to be ashamed.

  • Sean says:

You know people are raging on Tebow so much cause he cried. Either way it don’t matter cause Alabama whooped that ass!!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Christine says:

You know i would love to see 1/2, of the people on this website play 1/4 of a game as well as Tebow did for 4 YEARS. Get a life and focus on cutting yourself down and not someone who is a christian, and a good hearted role model for our kids. I am 24 and I think of him as someone that kids today need to someday grow up and have for example.

What a douche!!! Boohoo cry baby he won’t be shit in the NFL. Just a bitch oh and virgin well atleast with women.

Your hating on Tebow because he cried after losing the SEC title game and what’s the 2nd to last game of his college career. lol…you go to FSU…lost to USF, BC, etc. Ehhhh he ain’t no virgin either cuz he’s bent u over n raped u the past couple years…shit ur probly sore from the hurting we put on yall a couple weeks ago.

  • Nate says:

Tebow always cries like a little bitch. And celebrates like he won the lotto after every first down. Personally, I think Tebow spearheads the obnoxious gator nation personality. Too bad a pit leading straight to hell didn’t open up after their last game. Guess a loss is good enough..

  • Reggie says:

“I hope that he fails in every aspect of his life just as he did in the SEC title game. I think he’s a terrible person, a bigot, a fake, and the most extremely over rated athlete of our generation. He deserves every bit of criticism that he receives and believe with the media’s help, he has brought this entirely on himself.”

I don’t see how anyone can type anything so hateful about someone they’ve never met. It’s one thing to not like someone, but to hope they fail at everything? Bigot, really? And what did he bring upon himself, does he report to newspapers and blogs? I think media and always bring more criticism to everyone than is really necessary, but this post is definitely the most ignorant I’ve read all month.

  • Chris Mathis says:

For me, it will not be over in a month, two months, or ten years. I will ridicule Tim Tebow after he dies until I never hear another thing about him. I loath Tim Tebow with a passion that is unmatched by any living human being. I hope that he fails in every aspect of his life just as he did in the SEC title game. I think he’s a terrible person, a bigot, a fake, and the most extremely over rated athlete of our generation. He deserves every bit of criticism that he receives and believe with the media’s help, he has brought this entirely on himself. I would give all I have for the opportunity to see his reaction when he finally realizes that Jesus Christ is no more the son of God than he is.

  • Becka says:

this is how i think about it.. if ANY football QB cried like he has, they would have the same exact ridicule and shit talk and facebook groups about them.. and it’s just college football shit talk. it’ll be over in a month or so

  • knightm says:

you all suck….just leave the guy alone. UCF needs to stick with stories that deal with Knights. For example UCF vs. Rutgers December 19th. Lets worry on UCF football instead of other teams.

  • Joe says:

Leaders can be disappointed but to openly cry in front of your teammates is pretty bad. Nice guy off the field but needs to suck it up on it, its a football game. Pretty much it says that unless tebow is number one in everything, he cries about it. Wonder how he’ll deal in the NFL.

  • NickTheStick says:

Not only did Tebow cry like a lil bitch, he had a dude rubbing in his hair on the sideline as he cried, lololololol

I know I ain’t the only person who saw this

    suspect if you ask me

  • Lauren Fant says:

This is so absurd. Who even cares enough to leave long-winded comments on here? The guy lost the SEC championship. He was upset. He cried. He’s obviously a good kid and not “evil” like so many people on here want to say he is. The fact that this is considered newsworthy is ridiculous. Next time I’m disappointed in myself and I cry, I’m going to tell KnightNews and hope they write an article about me too.

  • Jamie says:

Hahahaha I go to the University of Oklahoma and everyone here hates Tebow and his “better than Jesus” persona. I’m glad Bama won. GO CRIMSON AND CREAM!

  • John Mc says:

Tim finally came to realize he is not superman. It hurts when you crash and burn and that ego bubble bursts!! What’s the word on Urban and ND. Is he leaving for the golden dome? RTR

  • runescape man says:

i totally true i think your site rocks ! thanks for the story

  • Steve says:

The anticipation of this game was more intense for me this year than any other game Bama has played. Bama looked to have this game won last year until Tebow took over the game in the 4th quarter. The man is scary good and Bama fans alike will admit that he was the player that had to be controlled Saturday night–and Bama’s defense did just that.

I think Tebow’s a class act on and off the football field. But I also do remember how he behaved after their win against Bama last year. He did everything in his celebration that the Bama boys did this year.

And I really don’t think he has anything to cry about, to be quite honest. His accomplishments at Florida have FAR EXCEEDED his short-comings–he led his TEAM to two national titles along with two trips (soon to be three) to New York and one Heisman trophy. I understand getting caught up in the emotion of the game–I just think he could have had better composure for his interview.

  • fred says:

I don’t understand why it’s so wrong to cry over losing something you’ve put your life into winning

  • Give the guy a break. Tim Tebow is to football as Tiger Woods is to golf: a talented player that has been put on a pedestal by the media. Only difference is that it hasn’t gotten to Tebow’s head.

He cried because the Gators lost the title game. Not only is it understandable but acceptable. It comes with being a dedicated member of a team. I am NOT a Gators fan by any stretch, but I AM a Tebow fan.

Back the hell off and give the guy a break. How about you go out and spend four months practicing like crazy and leading your team through a perfect season, then losing the title game? See if you cry.

Hell of a season, Tim. I may not like your team, but you’re a damn nice guy. And all the haters can go crawl back inside their mother’s womb for all I care. Then they can come out on the RIGHT side for a change.

  • kristen says:

that was the greatest thing i have EVER witnessed.

i’m glad tebow and the gators lost last night, now maybe everyone will shut up about him and take him off the pedestal they’ve placed him on. he’s really not all that great and when he gets into the nfl, people will realize that. ROLL, TIDE, ROLL BABY!

  • BAMA ROCKS! says:

Tim Tebow cried because he knows its OVER!! the whole Gator team went into that game knowing that they were gonna kick our ass! NOT! Bama showed up and took names! and Tebow was #1 on the list. everybody has built him up to be this great, wonderful guy that can do no wrong….Well, Saban and Bama should him different yesterday!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!

  • Krom says:

What a self important little bitch. “quarterback for Jesus” lol, looks like Jesus didn’t have your back tonight. Self righteous asshole. He was crying because he knows he will never make it in the NFL and his fame is over. All you stupid ass people think he gives a shit about the “gator fag nation” are out of your mind, he cares about himself, his actions EVERY week prove this “look at me, jumping around the field like an 8 year old who forgot to take his adderal, HE IS A SPOILED BRAT, not the second coming of Christ. He IS an AVERAGE. Qb at best, and his soon to be short lived NFL career, if someone is stupid enough to sign him, will prove this. Sorry ladies but all your wet pussies and crying for Tebitch won’t help him now. IT’S FINALLY OVER!! NO MORE TEBITCH!!!!! AND THE WORLD CELEBRATES!!!!

  • hueydriver says:

Some of you folks are crazy. You cry because you lose a family member. You cry because you have to leave your spouse and children for a year to go off to war. You cry because your best friend dies in your arms and there’s nothing you can do for him. You don’t cry because you’re an overrated college quarterback and you just lost to the best college football team in the country. Get over it America. Dude’s a clown.

  • Amy says:

Tim’s tears were because he feels he let the Gator Nation down, not because he lost a football game. There is a lot of pressure placed on him and he feels obligated to carry it all, as most QB’s and team leaders do. He was still gracious and classy after the game when congratulating Alabama, so those people who say he needs to be humbled obviously have not been paying much attention to Tim’s character. He is the poster-child for humility. Perhaps they could learn a thing or two from him.

  • Nole girl says:

Tim Tebow is soooo overrated. He shouldn’t even be in a university. His SAT scores were so low that he should be at a CC or adult ed center.

  • CrackerJack says:

Its definitely understandable to cry when its your last game of high school/college/nfl whatever last game. but considering florida will still probably get a great bowl game if not a bcs one then its kinda sad. hes won the heisman, hes won national championships i mean no need to cry there.

  • Pete says:

There’s a difference between “crying” and “crying like a bitch”. Tebow was crying like a bitch.

  • Abel says:

The people calling him all those crude names make me ashamed to be an American- let alone a human being. You guys are despicable and vile; stop embarrassing yourselves by acting like morons.

  • Alex says:

Eh I work in Gainesville so yea Gator Town, but lol at how dead it was today during and for once (finally) AFTER the game. We usually get all sorts of fans and calls from co workers bragging about a win. HA! who’s bragging now? I have to work again today with all the Gator fans(co-workers) and i’m gonna love it. The Gators are overrated and so is Tebow. I love how all the posters say “Tebow is the Gators” or some bs like that. He doesn’t make the team ya know? Freaking sweet how they finally lost Ha, and some try to blame it on Dunlap, lol please. I thought he was crying bcuz he’s about to graduate, this was his last game? and well it sucks to lose you’re last big one knowing everyone is counting on you because remember Tim, you are the team. So for him to lose sucks, so yes he’s earned a cry haha. Noles fans are loving it, us Bulls not too much rivalry there but ha I love it, I know the Dogs are loving it. This may well be the start of many loses to come lol. Goodbye championship, they’ll miss you XD

  • nick says:

All you people talking all this crap probably suck at sports and don’t even know what its like to win or lose. Tim Tebow lives for football, thats all he does day in and day out and his pride for his school is over the top. He just let down HIs whole school and everyone in the nation that was going for him and you expect him to just be happy and go home? Maybe he cried just a lil too hard but don’t call him a fag when he takes on teams by himself while you guys sit on your couch eating Cheetos and talking crap.

  • John says:

The one thing that everyone who sides with Tebow you are overlooking a key point. This isn’t the first, or second, or third time he has cried like this it’s like the millionth. And for anyone who has played sports knows their is a line between passion, busting your ass to do something only to come up short in a big moment like a championship, and just being an emotional ass. Tebow celebrates every first down against every team like he won the Super Bowl. Everyone loves passion but when all you do is make your passion a showcase for the media and the audience constantly it makes you look like a dick.

  • John C. says:

Sweet… Is there anyone who is not a girl who who thinks Tebow crying is cool?

Last time I checked, Tebow’s duty was to win football games, not to be “compete with your heart, soul and body” and to cry his little fag tears all over the field in the Georgia Dome.

  • Hannahhh says:

As much as I love all that Tim stands for in his faith.. he needed to be humbled. And I hate to see him cry, but I believe this was exactly what needed to happen. I am NOT a gators fan, so personally I was happy for the Bama win. But I believe Tebow is a good person. I do not agree though about what everyone is saying about him because he cried. He had alot of pressure put onto him and I could understand how he would feel like he let others down. I don’t believe that he cried over the loss.. just the way the season had to end and all the people that were going to be so upset. On the other hand, he may have taken it to personal. It is just a game. But hopefully it will help him to grow and learn in his faith. God bless.

  • Sarah F says:

Didn’t Wade Boggs cry when Red Sox lost a World Series? These superstar athletes have led their teams to victory time and time again, and when they fall short, they feel it in their heart — not for their own ego, but for their teammates. I am NOT a Florida fan! I generally despise the Gators! But Tebow’s remarks postgame were classy, period. Tears or not. You people who call Tebow “fag” are bigots, bullies and COWARDS and know NOTHING about what it is to compete with your heart, soul and body.

  • John C. says:

What a crying little deuche bag fag. There is no crying in football. I don’t care how many Heismans or championships you win. You can’t really blame him though, considering he completely failed to do anything worthwhile against Alabama and brought shame to his entire state. Anyone who thinks that Tim Tebow is not a total deuche cry-baby fag after this has fallen victim to another ESPN propaganda campaign and should be on their knees with Urban Meyer choking down two inches of tear lubricated gay weiner.

  • Axel says:

It’s one thing to be upset about losing; it’s yet another to cry about it. More than anything it shows that when he doesn’t get his way, he cries like a child. This is supposed to be a grown man and he cries after losing a game? You might say his tears show that he cares so much, but what’s gonna in the NFL? Some perennial loser team like the Lions are going to draft him; and what if there are no tears when he’s losing 10 – 12 games a year? That may prove he just doesn’t care, or better yet, he finally grown up and learned to accept you can’t always win.

  • FSUFSU says:

What a douche!!! Boohoo cry baby he won’t be shit in the NFL. Just a bitch oh and virgin well atleast with women.

  • Student says:

It’s understandable. I joke about it because he represents the gators, and he’s crying. It’s not necessarily Tebow that everyone “hates,” it’s the obnoxious gator fans. And in order to poke fun at the fan’s disappointments and the gators, we make fun of Tebow.

  • Marie says:

    Tebow is a class act!

After 4 very committed years to the Gators I think a few tears of upset are acceptable and to be expected.

God Bless Tebow for being such a wonderful influence on many young men and women!

  • caroline says:

    what a little bitch

  • joseph says:

    FAG!!!!!!!!!!

  • Facebook User says:

Tim Tebow is a greater man than anyone on UCF’s campus including myself. It’s heart-breaking to lose a championship, especially when you have a million fans counting on you to bring home another title. The best players usually are emotional about their wins and losses.

  • Julie says:

Understandable..He had every right to cry after that loss and he was a very graceful loser. Moments after defeat he was able to respectfully congratulate Bama and their coach. Kudos to him!
