Georgia Bulldogs Cry After Losing Liberty Bowl to UCF Knights

Entertainment, Sports — By Staff on December 31, 2010 at 8:43 pm

Seconds after the Georgia Bulldogs — an SEC football team — suffered its loss to the University of Central Florida Knights of C-USA, ESPN cameras caught at least one Bulldog start to cry.

But this Bulldog wasn’t a fan in the stands — it was one of the Bulldog football players walking off the field where the Knights won one of their biggest wins in school history.

The image of a crying football player brought back memories of University of Florida Quarterback Tim Tebow after his devastating loss to Alabama last year.

KnightNews.com has already noticed the image of No. 16 reduced to tears on Facebook pages, with comments about how football players shouldn’t cry. This was a big loss for the dogs, who suffered their first losing season since 1996.

So what do you think? Should football players cry after major losses? Was it OK for Tebow? Was it OK for Georgia’s number 16 after the Liberty Bowl loss? Feel free to share your comments below.

Kris Durham is one of the nicest individuals I have ever met. He’s an all around good Christian kid. For a website to report something so absurd is totally embarrassing for yourselves and your fan base. Congrats on beating UGA during one of their worst seasons in recent memory. I’m flattered to know its the biggest win of your program’s history. Go Dawgs!

Agreed with Knightgrad. As an alumna it is great to see our school doing great things. But to publically bash another school for a bad season and embarrass them even more is pathetic, and makes us look bad.

This is truly pathetic to run this as a story. I have no problem with players showing their emotions, especially a senior who lost his final game in a dissapointing season. How about a story highlighting our seniors and their accomplishments as the most successful class in UCF history instead of the misfortunes of our opponenets? I guess that wouldn’t fit into KnightNews schtick of being the TMZ of UCF.

that’s georgia’s senior receiver kris durham.he was out all of last year with an injury and he had just played his last game. ever. i think there is a reason for him to cry.

Of course its ok. It was probably this seniors last game ever of organized football, I would be more shocked if he didn’t cry after finishing something that you’ve put work towards your whole life.

Wow way to make yourself sound reputable. Im sure ESPN ran the same story. Idea, stop letting everyone report everything.

Well, when we lost at the Liberty Bowl a few years ago some of our fans set fires in the parking lot. As far as tears, Georgia should not be surprised as they are ranked 53rd.

      Go Knights!
