Knight Library’s St. Patrick’s Day Block Party
Night Life — By Brittany Mignanelli on March 18, 2010 at 10:08 am TweetToday was the one day a year that gives many people an excuse to add an O’ to their last name, drink heavily, and wear green (or they’re in for a pinch)… St. Patrick’s Day! Irish or not, UCF students came out in full force to Knight Library’s St. Patrick’s Day block party.
Partygoers enjoyed festive drink specials like green-colored beer and Irish car-bombs, while listening to live bands and eating food from local vendors. Everyone was in the holiday spirit, donning green EVERYTHING; shamrock head-boppers were a popular item. Also, Dropkick Murphy’s, “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” was played several times throughout the night to get people in the St. Patty’s Day mood. The ongoing holiday bash that began at 2pm, stretched all across the parking lot and ventured inside both Knight Library and Dungeon Lounge. Yet, it still seemed crowded! The block party was definitely a success. Knightnews was lucky enough to catch some interviews with students and enjoy the festivities.

I will never go back to knight library EVER. The girls bathroom flooded out with a foot of water/piss and my friend who desperately needed to pee was told if she paid a dollar to the guys room “attendant” they’d let her go. So i paid the dollar, we came out of the stall and next thing we know we’re being thrown out under false pretenses of starting a fight all because we had to pee in completely despicable, unsanitary conditions. If you want to make a big deal out of a girl using the guys bathroom either have DOORS on the bathrooms so it maintains it’s “privacy”, have port a potties inside and out since you couldn’t even get OUT without waiting in line or invest a little bit of money in some industrial toilets.
Aside from the reasoning of being thrown out I was appalled at how the “manager” handled the situation by basically telling me to go fuck myself. Well I’m pretty sure my friends and I are paying your bills to keep that shit hole open. Hope this places closes down so we can start bringing nicer bars with better management to UCF.

Atf, abt, either way, that had to be the biggest raid ever, im surprised it wasnt on cnn or something. Ive never seen so many high school kids get arrested. This article made it out like it was a successful event, but it was more like a complete disaster, im sure they will have a tough time not losing there liquor license after that. The fight that broke out was insane and everybody was getting involved. They did a tv news story about a women getting a bottle smashed on her face and going to the hospital that night. That place is outa control!
It’s not ATF that’s out there enforcing the underage drinking it’s ABT. ABT will fine the bars if they have too many violations and will take away their liquor license if deemed necessary. That would essentially close down the bar since a bar that can’t serve can’t survive.
Yea. ATF was all over that place last night. They were pulling out and arresting like 10 people at a time. I’m gonna stick to going downtown.
I saw dozens of underage people being arrested outside. I heard there was a big news story? R they going to shut down? I’m not a senior in high school anymore so I don’t think I’ll be going to any of these events.
I will never go back to a Knight Library event. ATF raided the place and arrested like 40 people and a girl got hit with a bottle and almost died. I will never go to an event where there are hundreds of 15 year olds trying to start fights.
