Andrew Peterson: Dump Zimride, Make a Carpool Lot

I have heard of Zimride, only because they were giving out free coozies with the SGA logo on it. Though interestingly not one with a Zimride logo, phone number, or website. No one wants to carpool with people they don’t know, it is awkward and not safe, especially considering UCF police have supposedly the lowest effectiveness of campus PD in the state. Why not take that money spent on advertising, coozies, t-shirts, and that 10,000 to parking services and designate one of the parking lots or garages a “carpool” parking only. Hire someone from parking services to stand at the entrance and verify there are at least 2 people in the car. Same carpooling idea, less awkward, and safer.

Let me know, I need a job.

Bianca Garcia: ‘Completely Appalled’ by SGA Spending on Retreat, Fancy Desk

Hey KnightNews,

I just wanted to say thank you for providing the story on SGA’s current activity. I had no idea any of this was going on until I got the Facebook message and watched the posted video. I was completely appalled by their recent actions of unnecessary spending. It reminded me too much of the corruption we hear about in the national news and, I mean, a lot of governments throughout the world have been known to do corrupt and wrong things, but UCF!??

Is there any way that higher administration can intervene in this situation? I don’t know too much the “governmental hierarchy” here at UCF because I am a freshman this year, but what about President Hitt and the people down at Millican Hall? Can they do anything about this?

Again, thank you for providing your service of informing students on what’s going down in UCF. I appreciate it and will be looking forward to future updates.

Sincerely,
Bianca Garcia
