First approved by the UCF Board of Trustees for the 2006-07 fiscal year, the performance-based system establishes a series of university goals that must be met in order for the university president and eligible vice presidents to receive incentive payments that form part of their total compensation.

The system was initiated by the UCF Board of Trustees, thoroughly vetted through the committee review process and unanimously approved by the full board.

Based on rigorous performance standards, the goals include increasing student retention rates, improving freshman admissions, increasing fundraising and securing additional grants and partnerships.

In this performance-based system, the leadership team receives no additional compensation if goals are not met. Results are evaluated by an independent third party.

In terms of our negotiation with the faculty union, UCF wants to give raises and one-time payments to faculty members when the union again approves Administrative Discretionary Increases as it traditionally has in the past.
