Alex Sink, a Democrat, has conceded the race for Florida Governor to her rival Rick Scott, a Republican, in one of the fiercest, ugliest and most costly gubernatorial races ever.

The Orlando Sentinel reported at 10:30 a.m. that Sink made the concession. Last night Sink went to bed without conceding, saying she wanted every vote counted. At about 2 a.m. however, Scott declared himself the winner.

At around 7 a.m. this morning, only a fraction of the votes were left to be counted and Scott maintained his razor-thin lead of 48.1 percent to Sink’s 47.8 percent — with only about 68,000 votes separating the two.
