UCF Police Broke No Laws In Dr. Vest Traffic Stop, OPD Say
Crime, News, Safety — By Staff on December 9, 2010 at 8:33 pmThe UCF police officers accused by Dr. Jennifer Lisa Vest, a mixed-race philosophy professor, of engaging in racial profiling when they pulled her over were cleared of criminal wrongdoing by Orlando police.
UCF officials announced that they invited Orlando police to conduct an independent review of the controversial traffic stop in the wake of a media firestorm that erupted after after KnightNews.com first broke the story in August.
UCF President John Hitt was joined by Orlando police Chief Val Demings and UCF police Chief Richard Beary at a news conference on campus Thursday to announce the results of the review.
The officials noted that Dr. Vest refused to return multiple contact attempts by those conducting the investigation into her allegations to tell her side of the story.
One UCF police officer, Donnie Freeman, admitted he told the professor, “I don’t care who the hell you are, I’m going to treat you the same as everybody I… I deal with.”
It’s not clear what — if any — punishment he’ll face for using the improper language.

I agree with wow…..after reading the comments on stop UCF Police harrassment they plan on holding another big rally next semester. lmao. this should be good maybe they might get another 20 students and two professers to show up. I wonder if Vest will participate in that one this time.
These officers need to sue this lady for defamation of character. If you are going to make accusations like that, you better be prepared to back them up.
The fact she didn’t want to participate in the investigation or even talk with anyone at UCF, including her boss, about the incident speaks volumes. That alone would be a slam dunk of a law suit.
She will be fired from this. At minimum her contract will not be renewed. She is a self-proclaimed racist who was looking for attention and 15 minutes of fame. Unfortunately, she didn’t think before she made up lies. There are consequences for lying, but then again many immature people in society today do not realize that.
what happened to all the supporters for Dr. Vest…. I bet they are planning their next protest. lol
it isn’t like the ACLU or the NAACP really helped her out because they knew it was all BS
So the police department investigated the police department and found out that the police department didn’t do anything wrong.

it is very amasing how nothing will happen to the left wing professor. She lied and didn’t cooperate with the investigation. The officers have to go through all this investigation get emails to the student body slandering them and then nothing happens to this professor. I hope nothing happens to this officer tfor saying he will treat everyone equally. I thought that is something that we want in our police officers with fair and equal treatment. Personally I feel that “hel” is not a profanity.
She can be contacted, she just refuses to talk about the incident. If it’s something unrelated, like regarding academics, she responds.
I wonder if UCF will do the right thing now and investigate her for making flase claims and not responding to requests for informartion during the investigation? Doesn’t she work for President Hitt? How can he not be able to contact her? Hold her pay check and I bet she shows up to talk to him.
I agree. Get rid of her and that professor from the business department that accused students of “cheating”. They are casting a bad light on UCF. Time to clean house.
I hope its not over, the professor needs to be shown what happens when you slander and try to play the race card for no apparent reason but to get out of a ticket. She embarrassed the university and needs to be fired.
