The legislative branch of the Student Government Association recently passed a resolution supporting a campus-wide moment of silence on March 30, 2011, which is supported by both the faculty and student senates, according to a press release sent out on behalf of SGA.

The program is hosting by the Eternal Knights, an organization that honors UCF students who have passed away. The ceremony will be held Wednesday, March 30th, at 3 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom at the Student Union.

The Eternal Knights encourages students to join in on this moment of silence even if they are unable to attend the actual ceremony. This will allow families and friends to join with campus leaders and members of the University of Central Florida. The moment of silence will last for 30 seconds.

According to SGA, “This event will be a campus-wide display of one of the most important values within our creed, community. Coming together as a campus to pay our respects for our fellow peers that are no longer with us will only bring us closer and help build school morale.”
