Radical thinking Michael Ruppert explains the collapse of modern day industrial civilization in an 82 minute interview with director Chris Smith. The interview takes place in a meat locker basement at an abandon warehouse located in Los Angeles. The setting of the interveiw sets a mood that Michael Ruppert is in a bunker giving his last words before society collapses. The shadowy effects do a great job of emotionally connecting the viewer to Ruppert’s story. The interview is mixed with historical footage to bring to reality what ruppert is saying as well as helping the interview transition subjects smoothly.
Michael Ruppert was an LAPD cop in his prime with a security clearance higher then top secret due to his parents being in the CIA. At age 27 before a big promotion he blew the whistle on a CIA drug trafficking operation. After finding out CIA drug trafficking isn’t and isolated incident Ruppert uses it as motivation to investigate a wide variety of subjects that relate to the problems society is facing today and will have to deal with in the future. He explains peak oil and how once we run out of energy the economy will collapse and chaos and violence will ensue for a short period of time until we ether make it through through the anger stage or create the worst holocaust ever and extinct ourselves. Ruppert also explains issues with our economic system comparing it to a pyramid scheme and how it ties into energy and is also leading us to collapse.
