A home invasion/robbery occurred early Saturday morning, Feb. 16, at the Campus Crossings Apartments on Alafaya Trail, near Lokanotosa Trail and south of UCF’s main campus, according to an alert message sent out by UCF Police late Saturday afternoon. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Students reported seeing multiple officers and helicopters at the apartment complex early Saturday morning.

“There were like 8 police cars literally right outside my front door and helicopters here too,” one student posted on Facebook.

Campus Crossing was the location of a double shooting in early January that left two Valencia college students wounded. The suspect later turned himself into police, officials say.

The UCF Police Department encourages students and staff and faculty members to follow several safety tips.
