Storms are expected to roll through much of Central Florida this weekend as the remains of Tropical Storm Chantal make its way up the state.

Rain is expected Friday afternoon, mainly after 2 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue throughout Saturday and Sunday with chances of rain at 60%, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Winds of to 45 mph and heavy lightning are expected with Friday afternoon storms, the NWS says. After that, storm chances will remain above normal throughout the weekend.

Highs for the weekend are expected to remain in the low 90’s.
