Students at the University of Central Florida have big plans to raise money next year — setting their sights high with a goal of half a million dollars to be raised for charity.
Knight-Thon, an annual dance marathon at UCF, recently announced a fundraising goal of $500,000 to be donated to Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This year’s theme: “Dare to Make a Difference.”
“Although this is an ambitious goal, I am so excited to watch the UCF Community come together and surpass all of our expectations,” said Knight-Thon Student Director Drew Storchak. “Knight-Thon has become a movement that allows every student to make an impact during their college experience.”
On March 28, 2015, more than 1,000 students will stand for 20 hours to fundraise for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and spread awareness “For the Kids” (FTK).
Last year, Knight-Thon managed to raise $392,831.65 benefiting Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, and Shands Hospital for Children.
Students who wish to create or join a fundraising team, or volunteer with Knight-Thon’s Staff/Volunteer team, can find out more information during FTK Week from Sept. 15-19.
