Intoxicated Guest Allegations | UCF Letter | NOLA Formal Allegations | LXA Pres. Interview/Main Story
“In the spirit of transparency and our new “Way Forward,” I wanted to be the first to inform you that the Beta-Eta chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity was closed and the charter revoked by National Headquarters this evening.
At a mandatory meeting for all members, representatives from the national office of Lambda Chi Alpha announced the closing of the Beta-Eta Chapter effective immediately with an unspecified time for returning.
UCF supports this decision and representatives from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Student Development and Enrollment Services were in attendance at this meeting.
According to the national office, “The current state of the chapter does not reflect the core values of Lambda Chi Alpha, and there is no evidence the current officers can influence a change within Beta-Eta…”
Lambda Chi Alpha is one of UCF’s oldest fraternities and at times has made great contributions to our community. The chapter’s charter revocation is sad, but it’s also a reminder that chapters are expected to abide by national standards and strive for organizational success at UCF.
My staff and I are dedicated to fostering a Greek community that is safe, inclusive, engaged and committed to excellence. We will continue to provide our members with resources, tools and education to help them succeed as students, leaders and members of the community.”
