The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is responding to a call of an aggravated assault near UCF after students reported hearing arguing and gunshots, Night Watch Commander Larry Spahn said.

Deputies say the incident happened on Khayyam Avenue right next to Phi Delta Theta’s off-campus fraternity house, which sits right near the location of a recent attempted rape. This area is home to many UCF students and off-campus Greek homes.

Spahn said several witnesses heard shots but no one was hurt in the incident. He said that when deputies responded, there was no crime scene and no victim. [sam_ad id=”5″ codes=”true”]
“We’re not sure if someone was just shooting a gun or if shots were fired at someone at this point,” Spahn said.

Deputies said they found shell casings near a residence, and even though no one was injured, residents of the area said they are scared.

Keep checking back for more information as it becomes available.

This is the second report of gunfire outside a UCF fraternity house this school year.
