The University of Central Florida College Republicans held a debate Monday April 18 that featured Republican Senate candidates Howard Knepper and Dwight Young.

Both of the candidates, along with a several other conservatives are trying to receive the Republican party of Florida’s nomination for the upcoming senatorial race this November.

The winner of this primary season will go on to face the Democratic competitor to replace Marco Rubio as one of Florida’s two Senators.

During the debate, students learned about the two candidates and what each man would do to help not only the state of Florida, but also the country.

The topics discussed included college affordability, treatment of law enforcement, and the “war” on Christians.
